Day 1: Wrap Up, Chicago!

Well my dad picked me up in style today from the airport to begin day 1 of our Route 66 Adventure. Route 66 begins right in downtown Chicago. Lots of people were honking and waving to see my dad’s car. We took some pictures at the official start of Route 66, and visited the Chicago Institute of Art, where we saw some famous painting like “Sunday in the Park” by Georges Seurat, and American Gothic. 

Then we drove the first few miles of Route 66 before stopping by the famous Steppenwolf Theatre Company where we saw a production of “The Way West.” 

We ended the day with a large Chicago style pizza which must have been 5 pounds.
